Our First Valentines

I'm going to post this from Dustin's Myspace page. I think he tells the story pretty well, however I may put in my two cents here and there.

i just wanted to share why i have the best girlfriend in the world! this will be a two part blog. first is what she did for me. later on i will tell you what i did for her.
mine was nicknamed "morris code". so it was hinted at in the past few days to intrigue me and get me curious. and it worked.
so it was put into play last night. i got quite the suprize when in the middle of the night i was woken up by the one person that i wanted to be woken up by. what a suprise. she drove about two hours for this suprise.
so this morning as i go to my car i find that it is filled to the brim with balloons. i open the door and they all start to fall out. inside is also a ginormous card. it let me know that she put a little note in each balloon saying something she liked about me or some comment between us.
so popping each balloon was quite fun. even the cat popped a few.

So "morris code" was very successful this yesterday. just so you know i had something just as good planned for julie. it also made me nervous to see how "project julie" would go.
so i have been planning "project julie" for a little bit now. it kinda all came together very well considering i waited till the last minute to work out the details. "PROJECT JULIE" WAS SO GREAT IT EVEN GOT ME OUT OF A SPEEDING TICKET.
the thing that made it so special was that it was very personal and showed her that i listen and that i care to take the time and effort to make it special for her. it also took a little planning to pull off and i even had one minor little set back.
so it all started last weekend when i went up to visit her up in pocatello and go with her to an institute dance. i went up a few minutes early and met one of her friends as i was coming in to town. i gave her the gifts that i got julie so she could be my dropoff man. it was a close call too. i barely made it up there with only seconds to spare timewise. i also got pulled over and after showing him the flowers and telling him about "project julie" he let me off with a warning. i was going 79 in a 65!
so all weekend i was hinting at a surpize that i had for her and started calling it "project julie". i had her friends helping me and even her family was aware of it. it drove her nuts and she tried any way she could to find out what it was. i was nice enough to give her tons of vague hints that didn't really help except to pique her curiousity even more.
so last night was when the project began. i went to institute and it begans as soon as i got done with it. my goal with "project julie" was to make it feel like i was there when we were two hours apart. last weekend i left her one of my favorite hoodie's. she loved it. but now came the good part.
so first off i called my drop off man and gave the go. she was to drop off the goods in about 15 minutes. then i called julie. we had agreed that since we couldn't physically be there that we would try something else. we decided to both watch the same movie at the same time. she picked the wedding planner.
so we both started the movie and had it syncronyzed so that it was at the same spot for both of us. we basically just talked the whole time and didn't really watch much of the movie. my friend sent me a text saying that her gifts were dropped off and ready. so i then asked julie if she had "heard that". no she didn't. i kept insisting that i heard something or someone at the door and kept encouraging her to go check. so she finally does and finds the blanket and flowers/flower i got for her. this was where the snag came through.
i had gotten her a huge blanket/comforter because she loves having a ton of them on her bed. i also knew that daises were her favorite flower so i got a bouquet of daises with a single red rose. well her friend said that the flowers were looking pretty ragged so she would replace them if she needed to. she only replaced the rose.
so she loved the gifts and was pretty surpized how i was able to get them to her. she had her suspicions but never figured it out till i told her the whole story. she told me that her favorite boquet was dasies with a single rose so it was too bad that the daises didn't last that long. my original plan was to give them to her last weekend while i was there but after counseling with her friends decided to wait till valentines. so it was a huge success.
i just want julie to know that i care. its hard to really show that by saying you care. hopefully she knows by what i have done.

K, this is Julie again... I just wanted to add.. I really thought he was going to be at the door, but I loved my blanket and flower. :) He left out the mushy part with the blanket. He told me that night, that he knew I get cold and that he can't always be there to keep me warm, so he got this blanket for me so whenever I was lonely or cold I could wrap myself up in it and it's like he would be there.
